Today I’ve decided to write about ‘Gossip Girl’s’ main character Blair Waldorf fashion sense. She is a girl who is a tad bit snobbish and obsessed with designer labels, but definitely one of those who know how to dress and impress. Eric Daman did one hell of a great job. *kudos*
In season 1, Blair is a student in Constance Billard school for Girls. Her style mostly revolves around the mandatory school uniform and because it’s boring she finds ways to liven it up with signature – look headbands and bows.
She has this mashup style of sophisticated, preppy, yet fun and elegant look. It is well known that her adored fashion icon is Audrey Hepburn, and that is where classic details come in: pretty trenchoats, bowler hats and breath taking dresses. Have you ever seen Blair wearing sweatpants in a show? NO! It’s all about those skirts, ’bout those skirts, no khakies.
One of favourite Blair’s things are vibrant, bright colours as seen above. She masters all kinds of structures, colours and instead of looking messy and out of place, Blair scores a firm place as the most fashionable character in GG. Risky to stand out, but worth to try.
Cannot forget tights, it is one of the must – haves if you’re copying her style. From white&red to patterns and prints.
As you can see in formal events she doesn’t hold back, little black dress and pearls( can never go wrong with these timeless pieces)would be the safest, but instead she chooses a long orange ruffle dress and a purple clutch. And surprisingly, it looks like a perfect dress to enter the ball:
